Representative Ilhan Omar
Representative Omar earned her B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from North Dakota State University. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and three children. While in the legislature, she focuses on eliminating racial disparities, protecting our environment, and shifting our criminal justice system toward rehabilitation rather than only punishment. When she was elected, she became the highest-elected Somali-American public official, as well as the first Black Muslim woman elected to hold office in America.
